She was a Senior Financial Analyst for American Express in New York, where she complied annual budgets in excess of $450 million for the credit card division. She also worked for the American Express Corporation in Phoenix, AZ, where she was in charge of the entire US Travel Service Office Fixed Assets and Depreciation Schedules and Quarterly Capital Expenditures. She acted as a system liaison for the American Express headquarters in Brighton, England and the U.S. She adopted a mainframe Fixed Asset Depreciation system and implemented it on an AS400 system for U.S. operations.
Being exposed and heavily involved in systems and computers, Nancy decided to pursue a career in computer networks. She earned certification as a CNE, Certified Netware Engineer in server installation, workstation and multi protocol computer networks. At the Bank of Boston, she served as the Network Administrator for LAN Manager and SQL server databases for US, Latin America and overseas operations. She supervised more than 17 departments for Local and Wide area networks using both Ethernet and Token Ring.
Furthering her career in Computer Networks, Nancy moved to Harvard Medical School as a Network Engineer. She was responsible for all connectivity between Harvard Medical School, research laboratories and major Harvard Affiliated hospitals. She installed and supported more than 1000 workstations and 20 Novell servers, implementing and automating daily processes, including daily backups. She analyzed network traffic and managed several Subnets using fiber optic and 100mb Ethernet, running various protocols from IPX, AppleTalk and TCPIP.
After moving to El Paso, TX, Nancy became a consultant for Immigration and Naturalization Border Patrol Unit. She was responsible for implementing the first automated finger print database run over Novell Networks.
Nancy also served as an independent contractor for Network Analysis and Network Redesign of Infrastructure for Cambridge Energy Research, an energy research company based in Cambridge, with offices in Washington, DC.
Nancy holds an active Florida Real Estate License as well as Florida Mortgage Broker License and is happily married with three daughters.
She founded The New Academy to provide, for all children, the learning environment she wished for her own daughters. She is currently the President of The New Academy.
